In case you didn’t attend the meeting, below are some links to handouts, which cover some of the important topics discussed. Included are announcements for two very critical upcoming meetings that we hope you can participate in:
1. SOUTH LAKE STAKEHOLDERS MTG – Jan 16 at City Hall
2. AMBER RIDGE – Jan 21 at City Hall. This is YOUR chance to understand these projects and make your voice heard. See photos.
We discussed the fact that Pointer Ridge Elementary School has just qualified to be an Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) School. The CASB has been very involved in helping make this GREAT achievement happen and we thank you for your efforts. Continued improvement at this school will have a tremendous impact on the image of our community and specifically your property values. KUDOS to YOU ALL! However, the work is not finished and we must continue with our support. We want the coveted BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL Rating.
VERY IMPORTANT – Metro is planning to discontinue commuter bus service in South Bowie. It is believed that the impacted routes will be routes B-21, B-22, B-24, B-27 and B-29. This could severely affect Bowie State University Students and those who daily rely on the bus to get the subway. You are urged to Please contact ALL of your elected officials IMMEDIATELY!
Please share this information with your family, friends and neighbors and if you didn’t make this meeting we hope to see you March 12, 2020, 7:00 pm at Pointer Ridge Elementary.
